Within Subnet we always talk about, reference, and measure ourselves against our core values.  Unlike many organisations I've been a part of, instead of pushing values down from the top we created our values by asking our team who we really are.  Our team came back with the values of Being Valuable, Being Passionate, Being Responsible, and Being Part of the Community which really aligned to Subnet's 'Why' of - To Make a REAL difference, through our experience and our excellence.

This year, to live those core values we created our new women-led and focused Intern Program providing opportunities in IT for women both locally and regionally.  This came in conjunction with our sponsorship of HerTechPath, which provides and promotes women in technology roles from school-age through to support of women currently in technology.  Over the Christmas period, our team chose to spend their annual charity days (a new initiative part of our Subnet Circle of Benefits) helping wrap gifts for those less fortunate and completed a charity food drive to support those that couldn't support their families with the basic essentials that we all take for granted.

For myself, I wanted to challenge my beliefs and make a contribution by getting a glimpse of what it is like living on the other side of the poverty line this year by supporting the Vinnies Annual CEO Sleepout.  This charity and fundraising event not only helps provide some insight, even if only for one day, into what it is like for those that don't have a home to go to, and how that might impact them.  While this is the first time I have supported this challenge, I'm really looking forward to supporting a great cause while increasing my understanding of this troubling issue.

While I'm going out of my comfort zone to do my part by sleeping out, I'm hoping like some of our staff have already done, that our partners, our customers, and friends of the #SubnetFamily will support my page to make a difference in those less fortunate lives, be that through a donation or highlighting the page to others to get support for this worthwhile and desperately in need cause.

To support me to help Vinnie's crew provide beds, food and housing by going to the Vinnies CEO Sleepout Link here
